Oe-- 0 to 3 inches; black (5YR 2/1) partially decomposed organic matter; weak medium granular structure; very friable; common coarse roots and common fine and medium; 4.8 LaMotte-Morgan; abrupt smooth boundary.

A-- 3 to 7 inches; black (N 2/0) very fine sandy loam; massive; friable; common fine roots and common coarse and common medium; 4.8 LaMotte-Morgan; abrupt smooth boundary.

Bw-- 7 to 12 inches; light olive brown (2.5Y 5/4) loamy sand; few medium distinct light brownish gray (2.5Y 6/2) and common coarse prominent brown (7.5YR 4/2) mottles; weak medium subangular blocky structure; friable; common medium and coarse roots; 5.2 LaMotte-Morgan; 5 percent subrounded mixed cobbles and 7 percent subrounded mixed gravel; clear wavy boundary. manganese stains on fragments in Bw horizon
