Ap--0 to 15 centimeters (0.0 to 5.9 inches); very fine sandy loam; moderate subangular blocky structure; very friable; very strongly acid, pH 5.0, pH meter 1:1 water; common very fine to medium roots throughout; common very fine and fine vesicular and tubular pores; abrupt smooth boundary.

Bw1--15 to 38 centimeters (5.9 to 15.0 inches); silt loam; 2 percent faint spherical yellowish brown (10YR 5/8) mottles; moderate subangular blocky structure; friable; very strongly acid, pH 5.0, pH meter 1:1 water; common very fine and fine roots throughout; common very fine and fine vesicular and tubular pores; clear wavy boundary.
