Notes: WEATHER OVERCAST 50 DEGREES F. VEGETATION SPECIES: RED OAK, BEECH, RED MAPLE, HUCKLEBERRY LOW BUSH BLUEBERRY.

Oi-- 2 to 0 inches; abrupt wavy boundary. Non-decomposed leaves and twigs.

Oe-- 0 to 2 inches; very dusky red (2.5YR 2/2) partially decomposed organic matter; common very fine roots throughout and common fine and medium throughout; abrupt wavy boundary.

Oa-- 2 to 3 inches; black (5YR 2/1) sapric material; weak medium and coarse granular structure; very friable; common very fine roots throughout and common fine and medium throughout; 4.2 LaMotte-Morgan; abrupt wavy boundary.

A-- 3 to 5 inches; dark brown (7.5YR 3/2) sandy loam; weak fine and medium subangular blocky structure; friable; common very fine roots throughout and common fine and medium throughout; 4.4 LaMotte-Morgan; 5 percent subrounded mixed gravel; abrupt wavy boundary. Thin pale, discontinuous areas of possible incipient E horizon.

Bw-- 5 to 9 inches; brown (7.5YR 5/4) sandy loam; weak fine and medium subangular blocky structure; friable; common fine to coarse roots throughout and common very fine throughout; 5.2 LaMotte-Morgan; 10 percent subrounded mixed gravel; clear wavy boundary. Sample sieved for percent gravel by volume.

Bw2-- 9 to 15 inches; yellowish brown (10YR 5/6) loamy coarse sand; massive; very friable; common fine to coarse roots throughout and common very fine throughout; 5.2 LaMotte-Morgan; 18 percent subrounded mixed gravel; clear wavy boundary. Sample sieved for percent gravel by volume.

BC--15 to 33 inches; yellowish brown (10YR 5/4) loamy coarse sand; massive; very friable; common fine to coarse roots throughout and common very fine throughout; 5.4 LaMotte-Morgan; 5 percent subrounded stones and 22 percent subrounded mixed gravel and 30 percent subrounded mixed cobbles; clear wavy boundary. Sample sieved for percent gravel by volume.

C1--33 to 38 inches; yellowish brown (10YR 5/4) coarse sand; single grain; loose; 5.4 LaMotte-Morgan; 10 percent subrounded mixed cobbles and 25 percent subrounded mixed gravel; abrupt wavy boundary.

C2--38 to 42 inches; brown (10YR 5/3) fine sand; single grain; loose; 5.2 LaMotte-Morgan; abrupt wavy boundary.

C3--42 to 65 inches; yellowish brown (10YR 5/4) sand; single grain; loose; 5.2 LaMotte-Morgan; 2 percent subrounded mixed cobbles and 20 percent subrounded mixed gravel.
