Oi--15 to 0 inches; fibric material; abrupt wavy boundary.

 

Oe-- 0 to 2.5 inches; dusky red (2.5YR 3/2) partially decomposed organic matter; very friable; common very fine roots throughout;

abrupt wavy boundary.

E horizon - incipient (1/4 inch thick) discontinuous E horizon present on some faces of the pit.

Oa-- 2 to 3.5 inches; black (5YR 2/1) sapric material; massive; very friable; common very fine roots throughout and common fine and medium throughout; 4.2 LaMotte-Morgan; abrupt wavy boundary. Oa horizon - in some areas mixed with underlying mineral material and in those areas be described as an A horizon.

Ap-- 3 to 10 inches; dark yellowish brown (10YR 3/4) loamy sand; massive; friable; common medium and coarse roots throughout and common very fine and fine throughout; 5.0 LaMotte-Morgan; 2 percent subrounded mixed gravel; abrupt wavy boundary.

Bw--10 to 16 inches; yellowish brown (10YR 5/6) loamy sand; massive; friable; common very fine and fine roots throughout and common medium and coarse throughout; 5.2 LaMotte-Morgan; 2 percent subrounded mixed gravel; clear wavy boundary.
