Notes: Weather - sunny, cool; vegetation species include alfalfa and pasture grasses.

 

Ap-- 0 to 11 inches; dark brown (10YR 3/3) loam; moderate medium granular structure; friable; common fine and medium roots throughout; 5.8 LaMotte-Morgan; 12 percent subangular mixed gravel; abrupt smooth boundary. coarse fragments are gray fine grained granite/argillite, close to Newport but coarse fragments are mostly rounded

Bw1--11 to 24 inches; light olive brown (2.5Y 5/4) fine sandy loam; massive; friable; common fine roots; 5.8 LaMotte-Morgan; 10 percent subangular mixed gravel; clear wavy boundary.

Bw2--24 to 26 inches; light olive brown (2.5Y 5/4) fine sandy loam; few medium distinct yellowish brown (10YR 5/6) and few medium faint light olive brown (2.5Y 5/4) mottles; massive; friable; 5.6 LaMotte-Morgan; 10 percent subangular mixed gravel; clear smooth boundary. mottling only just above the Cd horizon

Cd--26 to 60 inches; light olive brown (2.5Y 5/4) fine sandy loam; weak medium platy structure; firm; 5.6 LaMotte-Morgan; 10 percent subangular mixed gravel.
