During the course of a soil survey a tremendous amount of data is collected to assure a high level of quality. Most of this data is never made available to the public. In Plymouth County, we are trying to provide our field data to our users, all of our data is geo-referenced to track their locations. Below is a map showing the location of some of our soil pedon descriptions, these descriptions are also linked to in the soil series descriptions. A pedon description is a complete description of the soil (for examples of soil profile click here). Soil scientist describe soil to determine the proper classification and properties of the soil.
