Notes:

Basal or lodgement tills have a slowly permeable layer which impedes downward water movement and causes perched, seasonal water tables. Some till landscapes can actually get wetter on the summit of hills than on the sideslopes. Hydric soils can occur on concave slopes, level or gently sloping areas, and on seeps of some slopes.
